Porteau Cove Provincial Park
Porteau Cove Provincial Park is an oceanfront haven for scuba divers, kayakers, stand-up paddleboarders, beachcombers and those just looking for a place to relax by the shore. It's a little bit of oceanfront paradise just minutes from Squamish.
Shannon Falls Provincial Park
Dropping from a whopping 335 metres (1,105 feet), Shannon Falls is BC’s third tallest falls and the Sea to Sky corridor’s most popular spot for a picnic. Around the base of the falls you’ll find a well-maintained boardwalk and trail network to explore some of the area’s towering trees, old-growth stumps and the ever-present mist from the roaring falls above.

Spiritual value to the Squamish First Nation, the first people to live in this area. They told of a two headed sea serpent, Say-noth-ka who lived in and around Howe Sound. According to legend this beast travelled both on land and in water. Some versions say it was Say-noth-ka who formed Shannon Falls by slithering and twisting his powerful body up the mountainside on repeated expeditions; Say-noth-ka gradually wore down a spillway for those cascading waters. The trees here are massive and when the waterfall is pumping, cascading some 335 m down the cliffs, there is a light mist that bathes everything in a golden light.
